Fences

America, home of the free, land of the locked doors, sharp ended fences and tightly gated windows. A place where the money has our Gods approval and values are placed on monetary means and monthly ends. Where people grasp onto their wealth like a kid with a happy birthday ballon who doesn't understand why all this is so intriguing. A nation where no one gives to the needy because they are the problem and everyman is an island. A cultural embarrassment, where the socioeconomic landscape is so stagnate that it boarders on becoming a desert, and our history haunts us to ignorance. A place where our power to change is handed over for security and given to people with reputations so clean that we bleach our teeth and put on makeup. A place where it's people deserve what it gets and forgets it's place on our planet. A shallow and limitless place, a place with hopes and dreams and little to show for it's technological advances. America, a place with a fearful lot with arms open wide for the next big thing. A place so forgetful that we give it a name and call it a disease only to find that traditions have survived for a reason. A place, where I forgot to lock my door when the sun went down.
